Reading: The Case for a Mostly Open Internet

There is a slow but steady trend for Governements’ to take back control of internet in their countries. For China the “great firewall” is now a rigid access control on content. Russia has been progressing changes to to be isolate itself from the open internet. Iran shuts off access in a regular basis.

Ignition members might find this paper useful background reading. ITIF is a think tank of some sort, I can’t determine much about its funding or purpose but the paper is well written and balanced.
